About RinkRoots

RinkRoots is a free, Canada-wide junior hockey news feed. It answers one question: what's happening in Canadian junior hockey today?— across the three CHL leagues (WHL, OHL and LHJMQ) and Canada's Junior A leagues.

Every item is the publisher's headline, a one- or two-sentence summary written in our own words, and a link to the original story. We are a signpost, not a destination: the full story always lives with the league or team that wrote it, and we send you there. No ads, no paywall, no accounts, no tracking cookies.

Where the stories come from

The leagues' and teams' own public news feeds, checked once an hour. Each one was added only after we read its robots.txt and confirmed the feed is open to us. Right now that is:

How we credit sources

We show the headline, a short summary in our own words, the source's name and its small logo, and a prominent link to the original. We never copy article text or photos. Summaries say only what the source's own headline and opening lines say — many junior players are teenagers, and we don't add anything about them that the league or team didn't publish.

Schedules and scores

Schedules and scores are not shown. We're asking the leagues for permission first, and they'll appear here only if we get it. Until then, every league link above goes to its own schedule and standings.

How it's built

If we cover your news and you'd like it shown differently, or not at all, email hello@rinkroots.ca and we'll act the same day. The same address is for corrections: if a summary gets something wrong, tell us and we'll fix or remove it.
